National service scheme

National service scheme (NSS) was started to establish a meaningful linkage between the Nursing student and the society which facilitates academic improvement of students and improve community services. The NSS unit of Sankara College of Nursing (Women) was started on 2021. The NSS unit of our college conducts health awareness programmes, rally’s, campus cleaning, outreach programmes and important world health day celebrations.

Objectives

  • Understand the community in which they work
  • Understand themselves in relation to their community
  • Identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem-solving
  • Develop among them a sense of social and civic responsibility
  • Utilize their knowledge in finding practical solutions to individual and community problems
